Eric : : Senior Session

July 31, 2009

Last week I met up with Eric and his mom in Holland for Eric’s senior session.  It was nice having a guy to photograph for a change, I get mostly girls coming to me!  So we drove around to some of my favorite spots, did a little trespassing, just about got hit by a train…lots of fun stuff!!  Eric was so easy to work with, I think he’s a natural!!  Check it out…

New Wedding Site!

July 28, 2009

My brand spankin’ new wedding site just launched today!  I am very excited to have all my wedding stuff on a seperate site!  You can access it from the same homepage you are used to www.pattisportraits.com.  Go on check it out, what are you waiting for?

Stay tuned, I have a lot of blogging to catch up on in the next few days!

Hillary is going to be a senior at Grand Haven High this fall and I had the pleasure of meeting up with her last week for her senior pictures!  We started at a really cool old farmhouse where the owner was gracious enough to even let us take some pics inside his beautiful home!  This place was like a museum…china, silver and antiques everywhere.  Space was tight but we did manage to get some really cool shots, the bookcase ones are my favorite and Hillary is an avid reader so I’m sure they will be her favorite as well!  We then headed outside to the old barn, and you know I’m a sucker for old barns, so that was fun!  And the farm is surrounded by blueberry fields that are in full bloom right now…sweet!!  We ended the session downtown Grand Haven for a few urban shots.  Thanks Hillary, I had a great time hanging out with you!

Last week I spent an evening in Grand Haven doing Samantha’s senior pictures!  It was a blast as I know her mom from the dental office that I occasionally still work at.  Samantha was so easy to work with and her mom and friend were such troopers following behind with the suitcase of clothes and bucket of shoes and accessories!  I so wish I would have taken a picture of that, it was a sight to see!  My hubby also came along as the designated couch mover, thanks Chad  :)  We spent most of the evening downtown drawing quite a bit of onlookers.  We even came across this nice young guy who let us use his freshly painted motorcycle…so cool!!  We ended the evening at the beach where Samantha was having some wardrobe malfunctions (hehe), but we still managed to sneak in some shots before the sun left us for good!  Thanks guys for a fun night, enjoy your preview…

On July 10,2009 I had my first destination wedding!  Dennis and Kacey got married at the fabulous Castle Farms.  Wow, that place is great!!  In addition to a beautiful location and a perfect day, the details and colors of this wedding were fabulous!  Kacey did most of the decorating herself, right down to the flowers and the beaded necklaces her and the girls wore!  I could tell that a lot of thought and detail went into every aspect of this wedding and it all came together beautifully!  Congrats Dennis and Kacey.  Thank you SO much for allowing me to be a part of your day!

I met up with Carlyn and her mom earlier this week for Carlyn’s senior session.  I loved everything about this girl…her eyes, her freckles, her OUTFITS!!!  Oh, and she has a great personality too :)  Carlyn and her mom were so organized and had jewelry and shoes to match every outfit change, so fun!  She was stylin’ as we hit the streets of Holland and then headed out to the beach for a few shots there as well.  It was so hard to pick just a few for the blog, I have a lot of favorites!!  But here is just a teaser, the rest will be done soon.  Thanks for choosing me to take your senior pictures!

Summer is booked!

July 15, 2009

I am now scheduling into September for sessions.  If you are a senior and still need senior portraits done, I will fit you in sometime in September and you should still make the yearbook deadline!  If you are wanting to schedule a family or child session, I am booking those into October.  September will be reserved for senior portraits only! The only exception is the babies that are enrolled in my Baby Plan…I will still get you in as scheduled!

Thanks to all my past and present clients for all your kind words and referrals, I wouldn’t be where I am without all of you!

This may be a familiar face for some of my past wedding clients!  Katie works for me as my second shooter at weddings and recently got engaged herself!!  I’m SOOO happy for her!  So when it came to doing an engagement session, I knew Katie would be up for anything.  I’ve always wanted to try early morning light, so a session time of 6:00am was set!  We went to a new location, or what Scott and Katie called “their secret spot”.  It had a cool brick road and some old buildings…perfect!

Now…before I show you the pics, I should fill you in a little bit about the story of how Scott proposed!  Scott and Katie are both runners and do many races together.  The River Bank Run was one of those races.  Scott had it all planned out (even running the entire race with the ring in his pocket), and obviously Katie had no idea.   When Katie neared the finish line, Scott met up with her and finished the race with her (how sweet)!  Just across the finish line, Scott got down on one knee and proposed…and of course Katie said “YES!”  They even got a little news coverage which was an added bonus  :)  So fitting enough, running shoes had to play some part in the engagement pictures!  In the car in between a wedding and a reception recently, Katie and I came up with the perfect save the date idea!  Check out all the fun pics and the save the date pic at the end.  Enjoy, Katie, you only had to stalk my blog for a day waiting for these!!  LOL!
